Changzhou University Regulations of Conferring Bachelor’sDegree on International Students
Article 1Changzhou University Regulations of Conferring Bachelor’sDegree to International Students are formulated to promote the development of international education, and to further regulate the implement of conferring bachelor’s degree on international students in Changzhou University. In accordance with Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Academic Degrees, the Provisional Implementation Measures of the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Academic Degrees, the Administrative Measures of Higher Education Institutions in Jiangsu Province for Enrollment and Training of International Students, and Constitution of the Academic Degrees Evaluation Committee of Changzhou University, and on account of the real situation of the university, these implementation rules are formulated.
Article 2Qualified with the following conditions, and approved by the academic degrees evaluation committee of the university, full-time international students who graduates from Changzhou University would be conferred bachelor's degree of corresponding majors:
Being politically friendly to the People’s Republic of China, abiding by the national laws of China and the university’s rules; conducting honorably, abiding by academic ethics and integrity;
Completing study tasks in accordance with international students training program, obtaining stipulated credits, and being approved to be conferred bachelor’s degree of corresponding majors;
The average GPA of stipulated lessons included in the examination of graduate qualification shall exceed 3.0 (for international students enrolled after 2020, the GPA shall exceed 3.1);
The Chinese language ability of international students whose major is taught in Chinese shall reach to the fifth level of Chinese Language Proficiency Scales for Speakers of Other Languages, and obtained the certificate of HSK (level 3); for students whose majors are taught in English, the requirement is obtaining the certificate of HSK (level 4) and corresponding Chinese language ability.
Article 3 Students under any of the following circumstances shall not be conferred bachelor’s degree:
Not meeting any of the conditions mentioned in Article 2;
Under severe warning, having demerits on record, or under academic probation, without being removed;
Unqualified to be conferred bachelor’s degree in the permissibly longest period of schooling;
(4)Being disapproved to be conferred bachelor’s degree by the academic degrees evaluation committee for particular reasons.
Article 4 International students who are unable to obtain bachelor’s degree for the following reasons are allowed to apply to retake the corresponding lessons. After obtaining qualified grades of corresponding courses, international students who meet the conditions mentioned in Article 2 are allowed to reapply to obtain bachelor’s degree:
Completing stipulated period of schooling but unable to obtaining bachelor’s degree for not obtaining enough credits;
GPA obtained in corresponding courses is not qualified.
Article 5 International students who are failed to obtain the certificate of HSK with stipulated level in graduation/completion are allowed to reapply bachelor’s degree after obtaining required certificate of HSK and being qualified with the conditions claimed in Article 2.
Article 6 International students who failed to obtain the bachelor’s degree for the undissolved punishment of severe warning, recording demerits, or academic probation are allowed to reapply bachelor’s degree by fulfilling any of the following circumstances:
International students who has graduated or completed the required courses with punishment acquired during the period of schooling are allowed to reapply bachelor’s degree under the condition that the punishment is removed after graduated and the students are qualified with conditions mentioned in Article 2;
Students being punished, having a deep reflection in the period of schooling on all the disciplinary breach and make a written review, are allowed to apply to bachelor’s degree in the following conditions:
Being awarded with the recognition of university or higher level organizations.
Taking park in and obtain awards in matches and competitions hold by university or higher level organizations.
Publishing academic papers of the corresponding major, or obtaining patents for invention of the corresponding major.
Gaining valid admission letter to continue further education as postgraduates
Article 7 Work flow of conferring bachelor’s degree on international students:
The academic degrees evaluation committee of each school evaluates graduates’ qualification of being conferred bachelor’s degree, and propose a list of qualified candidates, which shall be submitted to teaching affairs office after reevaluated by international office.
After evaluated, the teaching affairs office would submit the list to the academic degrees evaluation committee of the university.
The academic degrees evaluation committee of the university will confer bachelor degree on qualified candidates.
Article 8 In principle, international students are evaluated to obtain the bachelor’s degree by the academic degrees evaluation committee of the university twice in one year -- June and December, and the qualified students are issued the degree’s diploma by the university authority. The date on diploma shall be in accordance with the issuance date.
Article 9 These rules are deliberated and adopted by the academic degrees evaluation committee, and shall go into effect on September 1, 2020.Changzhou University Regulations of Conferring Bachelor’s Degree on International Students (CCZU [2016] No.57 ) shall be repealed at the same time.
Article 10 Authorized by Changzhou University, teaching affairs office shall be responsible for interpreting these rules.
