Visa

Go to the local Chinese Embassy or Consulate abroad and apply for a study visa.

Please make sure to apply for a study visa for studying in China. The X1 visa is a long-term convertible visa and must be converted into a residence permit within 30 days after entering China. The X2 visa is a short-term non-convertible visa. A holder of such visa is only allowed to go to China and back once and stay in China for 180 days at most. Therefore, if you will study in China for more than 180 days, you need to apply for X1 visa (residence permit); if less than 180 days, you need to apply for X2 visa.

The materials for visa application usually include:

1.One original and one photocopy of passport (Please make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months and has blank visa pages.)

2.One original and one photocopy of Application Form for Foreign Students Studying in China (JW 201 or JW 202)

3.One original and one photocopy of Admission Notice issued by the Chinese college/university

4.Other docuements required by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate.

Upon your arrival

1. How to Arrive Changzhou University (Ke Jiaocheng Campus)

Departure from Changzhou Benniu Airport:

i.Take a taxi to Changzhou University (Wujin Ke Jiancheng Campus), which takes about 40-60 minutes and costs 80-100 yuan.

ii.Take the airport bus to Changzhou Passenger Transportation Center (City Terminal), then walk 133 meters to Changzhou Railway Station (metro station), take Metro Line 1 to Ke Jiaocheng North Station (exit 3), and walk 1km to the Changzhou University (Ke Jiaocheng Campus). It takes about 2.5 hours and costs 29 yuan.

Departure from Changzhou North Railway Station:

i.Take Metro Line 1 (in the direction of Nan Xiashu) to the Ke Jiaocheng North Station(exit 3), walk 348 meters to Gehu Road Huayuan Street Station, and take bus of B11, H3 or K5 to Changzhou University Wujin Campus Station. It takes about 1 hour and costs 8 yuan.

ii.Take bus of B1 to the Information College Station and walk 1.1km to Changzhou University Ke Jiaocheng campus. It takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes and the cost is 2 yuan.

iii.Take a taxi to Changzhou University (Wujin Ke Jiaocheng Campus), which takes about 30-40 minutes and costs 50-60 yuan.

Departure from Changzhou Station:

i.Take Metro Line 1 (in the direction of Nanxiashu) to the Ke Jiaocheng North Station  (exit 3), walk 348 meters to Gehu Road Huayuan Street Station, and take buses of B11, H3 or K5 to  Changzhou University Wujin Campus Station. It takes about 45 minutes and costs 6 yuan.

ii.Walk 375 meters to Xinfengqiao South Station, take No.2 Bus and get off at Changzhou University Wujin Campus Station. It takes about 1 hour and costs 2 yuan.

iii.Take a taxi to Changzhou University (Wujin Ke Jiaocheng Campus), which takes about 25-35 minutes and costs 27-36 yuan.

 2. How to Arrive Changzhou University(Xi Taihu campus) 

Departure from Changzhou Benniu Airport:

i.Take a taxi to Changzhou University (Xi Taihu Campus). It takes about 45-60 minutes and costs 60-90 yuan.

ii.Take the airport bus to Wujin City Terminal, then walk 301 meters to Yanzheng Avenue Yanling Road Station (bus station) and take bus B15 to Fengze Road Lingxiang Road Station, and walk 46 meters to Xi Taihu campus of Changzhou University. It takes about 2 hours and 50 minutes, and the total cost is 32 yuan.

From Changzhou North Railway Station:

i.Take Metro Line 1 (towards Nanxiashu) to Yanzheng Avenue Station (Exit 5), walk 321 meters to Yanzheng Avenue Huayuan Street station, take No.311 Bus to Fengze Road Lingxiang Road station, and walk 46 meters to the Xi Taihu campus of Changzhou University. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes, and the cost is 7 yuan

ii.Take bus B1 to Lanling Road Renmin Road (BRT) station, and then transfer to bus B15, get off at Fengze Road Lingxiang Road Station, and walk 46 meters to the Xi Taihu campus of Changzhou University. It takes about 2 hours and costs 4 yuan.

iii.Take a taxi to Changzhou University (Xi Taihu campus), which takes about 30 minutes and costs 50-70 yuan.

From Changzhou station:

i.Take Metro Line 1 (towards Nanxiashu) to Yanzheng Avenue Statio (Exit 5), walk 321 meters to Yanzheng Avenue Huayuan Street Station, take bus No. 311 to Fengze Road Lingxiang Road station, and walk 46 meters to the Xi Taihu campus of Changzhou University. It takes about 1 hour and costs 6 yuan.

ii.Walk 375 meters to Xinfengqiao South Station (bus station), take bus B11, get off at Renmin Road Lanling Road(BRT) station, transfer to bus B15, get off at Fengze Road Lingxiang Road Station, and walk 46 meters to Xi Taihu campus of Changzhou University. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes, and the cost is 4 yuan.

iii.Take a taxi to Changzhou University (Xi Taihu campus), which takes about 30-40 minutes and costs 50-70 yuan.

3. Temporary Residence Registration

Freshmen shall enter China with X1/X2 visa. International students are required to arrive in Changzhou city as soon as possible and register in local police station within 24 hours on arrival in Changzhou city (A fine will be given if fail).

4. Residence Permit

Since X1 visa expires in 30 days from the day entering China, students shall finish the residence permit application within 30 days.
